Many women experience breast concerns that can affect comfort, confidence and body proportions at different stages of life. These changes may develop naturally over time, following pregnancy and breastfeeding, after significant weight fluctuations, or as a result of medical conditions and breast cancer treatment.

At Astrid Plastic Surgery, we provide personalised cosmetic and reconstructive breast care tailored to each patient’s concerns, anatomy and desired outcomes.

Common Cosmetic Concerns

Loss of Breast Volume or Fullness

Loss of Breast Volume or Fullness

Do you feel that your breasts appear too small or lack fullness?

Some women naturally have smaller breast volume or less projection, while others may notice a gradual loss of fullness over time. This can affect overall body proportions and make certain clothing styles feel less flattering or balanced. In other cases, patients may simply wish for fuller contours that better complement their figure and silhouette.

Sagging or Drooping Breasts

Drooping Breasts

Do you feel that your breasts sit too low or appear less firm than before?

Breast shape and firmness can gradually change due to ageing, pregnancy, breastfeeding or major weight fluctuations. As the skin and supportive tissues stretch over time, the breasts may begin to droop or lose their previous contour and position. Some patients may also notice downward-pointing nipples or difficulty achieving a balanced silhouette in clothing.

Uneven Breast Shape or Size

or Size

Do you feel that your breasts appear uneven or asymmetrical?

It is common for breasts to have slight natural differences in size or shape. However, in some cases, the asymmetry may become more noticeable and affect overall balance and confidence. Differences may involve breast volume, breast position, nipple height or overall contour, making certain clothing or bras feel uneven.

These cosmetic breast concerns are among the most common reasons women seek aesthetic breast surgery, often affecting both body confidence and overall proportions. With carefully tailored procedures, our surgeons aim to address these concerns with balanced, natural-looking outcomes.

Common Functional Concerns

Enlarged Breasts (Breast Hypertrophy)

Enlarged Breasts (Breast Hypertrophy)

Do excessively large breasts cause discomfort or affect your daily activities?

Overly large breasts can place excessive strain on the neck, shoulders and back, sometimes leading to chronic discomfort, posture issues or difficulty exercising comfortably. Some patients may also experience skin irritation beneath the breasts or struggle to find fitting clothing.

Inverted Nipples

Inverted Nipples

Do your nipples appear pulled inward instead of projecting outward?

Inverted nipples are a relatively common condition where the nipples retract inward rather than protrude naturally. While some cases are mild, others may affect comfort or breastfeeding.

Breast Changes Following Cancer Treatment

Breast Changes Following Cancer Treatment

Has breast cancer treatment or surgery affected your breast shape or symmetry?

Breast cancer treatment, lumpectomy and mastectomy can result in major physical and emotional changes for many patients. These changes may involve loss of breast volume, asymmetry, scarring or changes in nipple appearance, often affecting confidence and body image throughout recovery.

Breast Loss Following Mastectomy

Are you looking to restore breast shape following mastectomy surgery?

Some patients may consider reconstructive breast surgery following mastectomy to help restore breast contours and regain a greater sense of normalcy after treatment. Depending on the individual’s needs and treatment history, reconstruction may involve implant-based or microsurgical techniques.

These functional breast concerns can have a significant impact on both physical comfort and emotional well-being. Through carefully planned reconstructive and restorative breast procedures, our surgeons strive to help patients regain comfort, confidence and a renewed sense of self.

How We Treat These Conditions

Depending on the individual’s concerns, anatomy and goals, Astrid Plastic Surgery makes use of a range of cosmetic and reconstructive breast procedures. These may include breast augmentation using implants or fat grafting, breast lift surgery, breast reduction surgery and reconstructive breast procedures.
